So I purchased an Incredible the day it came out. I absolutely love the thing. about 2 weeks ago it began randomly shutting down, the camera would freeze the entire device, ultimately leading me to have to pull out the battery. So I had a replacement sent. They send me one that was all beaten and battered without a battery door. When I tried to activate it wouldn't. They had me try a manual activation and that didn't work either. The rep then said she would have to send out another. So now I have my Original, The beaten replacement and I just got the "new" replacement. This new one came with a back door and a screen protector like my original. It actually looks like a brand new device. It is working perfectly!

So I compared the build date through the EPST....
    Original - 4/17/2010
    Beaten 2nd device - 4/17/2010
    New replacement - 6/30/2010

    I compared the screen model...
    Original - ATMEL224_16ab
    Beaten 2nd device - ATMEL224_16ab
    New replacement - ATMELC03_16ac

    Also compared the HBOOT
    Original - 0.77.0000
    Beaten 2nd device - 0.77.0000
    New replacement - 0.79.0000

Does anyone think the new replacement could have the LCD screen? I haven't noticed any differences.....

If you haven't noticed any difference, then don't worry about it. HTC did say that the screens were virtually identical.

you could check /compair the "SKU number from the boxes and the build number .build number : Menu button>settings>about phone>hardware information>Hardware ver.(0002)
and if SKU is ADR6300VW2 , My guess is amoled screens (but using outside is give away) lol

I still can't believe they sent you a beat-up handset. That would be TOTALLY unacceptable for me, no matter how well it worked (or didn't).

I do not believe HTC has started to ship LCD screens. I believe all the current shipments are still AMOLED.

I am not 100% on this, but I think this is the case.

LCD & AMOLED are not the same screens! You should read up on the advantages and disadvantages of each screen type.

It's personal preference but all I'm going to say is that GOOG picked AMOLED for the Nexus1.

HTC might have said that but we all know that's bull. PC Mag tested both types of screens and reported on it so you should read it.
