    OK, all done!

    Important

    - There have been reports of lagfix making nandroid run extremely slow. We have seen on entire system crash due to lagfix + CWM. Removing lagfix first is HIGHLY recommended.

You need to have the Samsung drivers installed for Odin to work correctly.

Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone. hold down ONLY volume-down key. wait a few seconds)

1 - Load odin (make sure it detects your device. You should get one yellow "Com" port box). (You should obviously have the USB cable connected by now.)
2 - apply .tar file via odin (use the PDA box) - link below (CWM recovery) (DO NOT EVER, EVER USE THE PHONE BOX!)
3 - when phone reboots, install ROM Manager from market
4 - go into ROM Manager, and use the flash Clockworkmod option in the app
5 - reboot into recovery via ROM Manager (don't manually reboot, choose the option in ROM Manager)
6 - you should now be in CWM recovery
(If for whatever reason, you are in stock recovery, not CWM recovery, choose apply update.zip. You will need to do this if you enter recovery manually or from a cold boot).

    **IMPORTANT**
When in CWM recovery, the power button is used to select options, don't use the home key. Home key turns the screen off. Don't freak out, just hit the home key again.

    Known issues
    -none at this time.

Angel (fallingup at xda) has done a great job posting thanks to everyone who helped out with this, so I'm just gonna steal his credits.

Big thanks to lilinser / dkcldark; koush; humancyborg, geeknik, and many others that were testing and constantly flashing their phones!

And without ludeboy, well, i wouldnt even be able to get into download mode to fix my phone in the first place

    NameBrandon,

Hey bro, thanks for your rather involved position in shaping SF into the amazing device that its potential allows. Its amazing to me that so many Droid 1 owners let the Bing (non) issue stop them from getting this device. People modded the Droid into another device and the opportunity to do the same on this *****in piece of hardware trumps a locked boot any day. However, I digress.

I got a big ROM chub when I saw CWM was available for the flashing, and of course I rushed into it. I havent flashed anything else but I did attempt a backup. My question is...do I need to do anything in particular to properly unflash CWM, so that when it is running, lets say "beginner friendly ROM backup/restores" I don't double flash anything and brick. Thanks buddy. Thanks to Cory, Dirrk, Koush...guys on IRC, you provide better support than any of my manufacturers or carriers do and I donate accordingly. Thanks again!

No, you should be fine, just flash over what you did.

This is my first attempt at odin. I opened it, clicked the PDA button, selected the .tar file. Now what?
I hit start and got a message of <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0). And nothing else happened. My phone has a triangel and says Downloading.

Edit. Reading fail. Odin doesn't see my phone.

hmm.. did you get the yellow box?

There's a row of 8 boxes, one should be yellow when your device is attached.

No. No yellow box. I tried unplugging the USB cable, and restarting Odin.
Should I start Odin first, then put the phone in download mode?

Nope, still nothing. When I start the phone, windows sees it. I went in to download mode, nothing. Restarted Odid, still no yellow box.

I see added drivers. I'll try them.

I needed updated drivers. The one I used to root didn't work. When I went in to download mode I got a device not recognized error. New drivers, started Odin, I'm in.

Nandroid is stuck. Backing up data, linux.ex2. Sad face. Try again.

Another edit. I unplugged the USB cable and it started again. Maybe I am just impatient.

Do you have the Samsung drivers installed? Sorry, that's a pre-requisite.

Big thanks to everyone who helped with the development this far. Think I'm going to wait until the sd card/nandroid issues are taken care of to flash. Glad to see all this happening so quick.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but nandroid works fine.

    /sdcard mounting has been resolved.

Clockwork Recovery is a recovery system that can be used with Rom Manager to load custom roms plus other goodies. You need the recovery system before you can do anything else.

I just decided to go ahead and do it. Instructions are fool proof.

Thanks to all NameBrandon and all those over at XDA who tested and worked on this!

Edit- Say I delete some bloatware and screw something up, how would I go about restoring what was screwed up?

Nice.. I like the attitude! Glad you got it working!

We don't have a 100% stock flash to go back to at this point, more like ~98% You would just re-flash the /system and kernel files via odin found here.

Thanks- I joined XDA yesterday, not to post, as I have nothing to add, but mainly because I like the vibe (ie.- guys know their stuff).

Thank again, and I can't wait for some interesting things to start happening. Judging by the speed of things so far, it won't be very long.
