Hey folks, have two kernels that are begging to be tested. I do not know how they will work on DJ05, or DI01.

I started with jt1134's source code, added my own undervolt settings, and patched the source code with the changes from Samsung for DL09. These are not overclocked.

Test1 (1/15)

Test 2 (1/16)
These should work better, and not have audio cut outs during calls.

Test 3, standard voltage (Please see if this cures music pops)

Nonvoodoo

Test 4 These are only for those with phone being detected as cd rom drive

These are beta in quality and may have undesired effects. The problem isn't completely gone, but at least the CD ROM detection should be (it is for me). Thats why I need them tested. I myself still had to boot with cable in to use mass storage.

After I flashed non voodoo I could no longer hear people on the other end of phone calls and they couldn't hear me. Flashing back to your 1230 for now.

So far, I've stayed away from Voodoo kernels, but with one required for Kaos's 2.2 ROM, I'm tempted to give one a try. Can anyone offer a quick primmer on the Do's and Don'ts of using a Voodoo kernel?

As far as I'm aware, once you've flashed one and converted your file system to EXT4, you do NOT want to flash a non-Voodoo kernel unless you've disabled Voodoo and converted back to RFS. Right?

Anything else? Can you flash new Voodoo kernels over an existing one without converting back to RFS, or is it always safest to convert back before flashing.

What about ROMs, do you need to do anything special with the ROM before or after flashing a Voodoo kernel? Once Voodoo is installed and everything is converted to EXT4, is it OK to flash ROMs back and forth? What about wiping data and caches? Should this only be done in the red Clockwork interface, or can this be done in the standard blue recovery too?

Maybe there should be a sticky with these answers, because I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be trying Kaos's 2.2, and if it requires Voodoo, there's the potential for a lot of problems if people don't know what not to do as far as Voodoo goes...

Oh, and thanks for all your work on these Adrynalyne!

Trust me, if it wasn't required for 2.2, I wouldn't even be considering it.

Not to take away from what it is/does, but I personally have no need for what it fixes. That said, I have enough Linux knowledge/experience to know what it's doing and why it leads people into trouble, so I'm not necessarily afraid of using it, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything I'm missing before giving it a try.

I'd love to know what Kaos's 2.2 requires it, and I wonder is the 2.3 that's being worked on will need it too.

i figure i will wait a bit until he gets more stuff working or wants input on how things are working. i dont think he is there yet.
