ok, so once I have it downloaded just push it over to the phone? I will need some direction once it's pushed. Also should I push as zip or unzip?

once the kernel is on the sd card, go into clockwork recovery and flash the kernel the way you did the rom

I tried pushto. but even if I put it on the other card and put that card in the phone I get no files found. do I need to put it on the orginal card? I had a spare that I tried with the card reader.

if I put that card in the card reader the computer doesn't even see it. I would need to reboot phone and hope for coms or put it on other card which oddly computer does recognize. Samsung card actually has one less prong thus that issue. So no card reader for Samsung card.

You are correct. Mac recognizes it now but...

    Desktop/Droid/eb16_voodoo_working.zip' to '/sdcard//eb16_voodoo_working.zip': I/O error
    You can now close terminal.

I really appreciate you taking all this time to help with this!

I can try it. I think it's on the phone side especially with the phone saying no files found when I try to install zip file from card. It seems to be blank now.

ok. Rebooted phone and then my files were back on the card. I installed the kernal and then I thought I was going crazy trying to figure out where this voice was coming from. The phone speaks. I now have:
    Firmware version: 2.2.1
    Baseband build: S:i500.04V.ea28
    Kernal Version: 2.6.32.9
    Build number: SCH-I500.EB01

This was the trick, the trouble getting installed just required a reboot
use the voodoo kernel from here
For Real this time: EB16 Kernels

is there anything else I need to do now?

Thank you for all the help!

    Hi,

I've tried rooting my phone on my mac multiple times.
I did the command "gpt show /dev/disk2" to get the sd card to mount and then I tried the one-click root.
Every time I do it I get this error message
