I've been using a cheap pair of earphones (not buds) with an inline microphone
with my existing phone for listening to music and taking calls. These have a
"sub-mini" plug (think 2.5mm?). Understand GN has "mini" jack (3.5mm).

Anybody have a recommendation for a new one that's compatible? There's a $5
Samsung unit on Amazon "Samsung 3.5 mm Premium Stereo Headset".

Ordered online last Thurs at 1am, waiting by the door for FedEx as I type.
Ordered some accessories online last Thurs at 3pm and they haven't even
shipped yet. Those who went right to VZ stores last week, good decision!

The Bose ie2(or whatever ie's they have that work with android) are the best headphones i ever had. They have the wing tip so they NEVER fall out. I plan on buying another pair as soon as i get the money because they sound great and feel great. Sometimes i forget they are there. Im not too sure about cheap buds because i don't really waste my money on them. IMO if im going to buy some, i want them to be good enough to last.

A pair come with the Nexus. They are a lot like those on Amazon.

They sound pretty decent for a included pair. No Beats but.. :p

Did you get your phone shipped overnight? Or did it just not ship right away?

I've actually been searching for the same thing.

If you look on headfi.org, they have this huge thread of In Ear Monitors (IEM) headphone reviews.
Multi-IEM Review - 208 IEMs compared (Clear Tune Monitors CTM-200 added 12/10/11)

I am currently using the included samsung headphones, which aren't bad, but they don't block out sound at all so walking around NYC, I would have to turn up my music to hear anything.

I just went and bought the white MEElectronics CC51p on amazon for like $40. These are normally in the $80 to $90 range and are supposed to be great dynamic headphones with good isolation.

I also have a pair of Brainwavz B2, which are dual balanced armature headphones (~$150) and they are amazing for isolation and sound but they don't have the microphone.
