I've searched and found some threads that come close to answering this but not leaving me that warm fuzzy that what they wrote is what I was looking for.

Question. Using OS X I unlocked using fastboot and rooted using superboot per the instructions in the stickies in this forum. I'm not running a custom ROM but do have clockwork ROM manager and ClockworkMod Recovery installed.

My understanding is with ClockworkMod recovery installed I don't have to worry about Verizon pushing out an OTA update and it installing to my phone and most likely resulting in me having to re-root the phone. Is that true????

Thanks in advance, I'm sure in time I'll move to a custom ROM and won't have to worry about this happening.

Updates will still be pushed OTA until you install a custom ROM, simply unlocking and rooting don't stop the OTA updates.

Ok lets clear the air here...

Stock and unrooted> will recieve updates
Stock and unrooted and flashed clockworkmod? Your recovery is no longer the stock recovery, you will NOT receive updates.

Have a Nice Day.
