Vibration and Sound issues

Ok so i dont know if anyone else has experienced this but what with each JB rom ive flashed. I've noticed that the sound quality is poorer and lower in comparison to ics. volume+ is much better ie: (quality and sound) with ics. also ive realized that my phone wont vibrate and play the ringtone after recieving a txt. but it vibrates if i just set it to vibrate. I basically use my phone as my ipod so the whole sound issue is problem for me when im playing music in the car or when i have my headphones are in. ive read about some of the volume fixes but none seem to work. does anyone have any ideas BESIDES trying DSP manager because that doest seem to work either.
