Someone at work paid the $750 price and I saw it during casino night.

I only had like 2 minutes to play with it.

Pluses: it was super thin and light but the build quality was very good! LIGHT YEARS better than the Nexus S. The screen was SUPER crisp and all I thought was wow it looks just like the retina display on the iphone. Also, comparing it to the HTC Resound that also has a 720p screen, the HTC didn't pop out and the text was too thin. But the Roboto font made the phone a pleasure to read with .

The camera did it pictures with no lag and its freaking awesome. even with flash, it was damn flash.

Minus: When I took the phone from my friend, when I was moving from each page on the homescreen, i feel lag and lack of response which probably means he's running alot of stuff but sad that it was perfectly smooth. I did ask him how he felt with teh phone, he said its the best android phone he's ever own.

other notes: I compared it to a Sprint Galaxy S2 with the 4.56 inch screen and the the effective screen size is smaller than the 4.5 inc screen but it felt larger than the traditional 4.3 inch screen. It didn't bother me that the galaxy nexus was a tad smaller in size. The colors on the white were more yellow on the GN than on my Super AMOLED Plus screen when I compared them side to side.

I guess that's all. I wish I had like an hour to play with it. But hopefully we will all get it this week.

The Rezound screen is amazing to me. I know you pointed out things about both, but do you think the Nexus screen is better?

yes. Lol...I think the Motorola Razr has a better screen than the Rezound.

I was surprisingly dissapointed. But the font on the GN was a nice choice. It felt great when I opened the browser.

Not trying to get flamed, but man there has been lots of talk about lag. I don't care whats running. I want it to be smooth like iOS or Windows. Why can't google get that part right?

Home screen transitions may never be as smooth as the competition. What's running certainly does matter, but more important is the way they're running. If you want to load up your home screens with all kinds of widgets and then throw a LWP in the mix, then you've got a bunch of stuff running in the foreground, all trying to get and display their own information. That can get taxing.
Applications in background, on the other hand don't eat up as many resources, and don't get high priority. Since all you can have on iOS is background apps, things remain smooth.
Maybe in Jelly Bean they'll develop a cunning solution once and for all. Who knows? All I can say, as a future Nexus owner, is that I'll happily be one of the first to know.

...are you trolling? Comparing the Rezound and the Nexus is understandable. Saying the RAZR has a better screen than the Rezound...you must not have good eyesight. The RAZR is better than other moto screens. But nowhere near as crisp and clear as the Rezound.

Rabble rabble rabble.

A lcouple of reviews say there are couple live wallpapers that are laggy still. Most are fine, but couple that are iffy.

Pictures shows a live wallpaper, so guessing he had one of the bad live wallpapers on.

Not really except able, but that's odds are the little lag issue.

it's not a troll. It's an opinion and apparently EVERYONE's opinion in the verizon store including customers. Maybe it was a bad handset. It's probably the because I prefer AMOLED vs the Super LCD. I dont' think Super LCD is that impressive. and I was EXTREMELY sad when I saw the Resound screen. It also doesn't help that HTC didn't updated their widgets for HD.

Stop throwing words like trolling. You obviously don't know the definition. If you want trolling, I can show you trolling. It's called an opinion and I was making a point.

And yes, the Rezound is not impressive. This is coming from a person who is on his 4th mobile phone of the year.

If you have the phone. That's cool. I hope you enjoy it. I was making a point about 720p screens and I think the galaxy nexus really does shine.

okay bye.

nice review for a 2 minute test drive..

Yeah I wish I had it longer. As I left the table. I was like Ah man, what about app drawer!!!? or face unlock or...

I could go on.

I think I will bother him tomorrow.

So the live wallpaper was on the background. As you can see it was the micro-probes. It wasn't like your typical lag. It was one of those, man what is going on with the phone lags. You swipe and you can notice the delay. But apps opening and closing was fast. Which is why I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt based on the 100 reviews I saw that didn't have lag.

It's really not that bad. I had a lockup when I initially used it transitioning from the app/widget area but after that it been pretty smooth. In fact it seems like the more I use the phone the better it gets and I don't know why that is.

It's still doesn't flow quite as smooth as the iphone in every app but, it's getting there. Google really took a big leap with this version of Android. The screen is incredible to look at and, the music app is very much improved. It's superior to the Iphone IMO. This is no doubt the best phone I've had. Once you guys start using it you will see.

First, love the screen name. I'm a long-suffering Cubs fan. Second, any signal strength reports? That's one thing that will make me go RAZR over Nexus.

I think he may have been running an older build,at least not 4.1 like the LTE builds have. I mean,I've only heard good things about how ICS runs.

I can't speak for the Verizon model but the GSM model's signal strength is excellent. The call quality is really good also. I wouldn't think it would be any different on the Verizon model.

The rezound and Nexus both have amazing screens. I think i like the Rezounds screen because of how it shows the colors more realistically compared to SAMOLED that kind of exaggerates colors. Nevertheless. I will be happy with either or.

Other than ICS i think im mostly going for the Nexus because of its size, I love big phones. Hell i would get the Note over the Nexus if it was on Verizon.

Yeah that microbes live wallpaper that you see in the pic causes major lag on just about any phone. Live wallpapers have always sucked on Android, and personally, I wish Google would just get rid of them because they are really the only source of lag left on any modern Android phone. Switch to a static wallpaper and it'll be smooth as butter.

This is a very well known issue, so if you read any review that mentions lag or lack thereof, but doesn't mention live wallpapers, you're not really reading a review by someone that knows Android.
