There are actually some ppl NOT rooting?
I purchased the GN to use stock. Coming from a BlackBerry, I do not see a need to root. Any else?
Bought it on 12/15. Rooted on 12/20. Was thinking about using it stock for a while. However, I faced a need for WiFi tethering on 12/20. So I defected to the dark side of android that date. Now, I am using the unofficial CM9 with 4.0.3 baseband. Couldn't be happier!!!

3. Wifi hotspot - if/when the hotspots toggle widget bug is patched
Is there any tutorial to get this working? The free version floating around the forum that does not require root does not work for me unless I allow an open network, which I do not want to do.
I just rooted mine yesterday but still using the stock ROM. I had forgot about the Google Wallet" secure element" issue until I unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Fortunately, Wallet appears to still be working fine. I'm hesitant to flash a custom ROM because I'm afraid I'll frak up the NFC chip, and Google Wallet is one of the main things I love about the phone.

That's strange. I didn't see any tutorial; I just downloaded the SwitchPro widget, put it on my home screen, added the tethering toggle, clicked it, and tethering worked. I pulled up the tethering options in the notification bar and changed the network name and password, but that was it.
