Text messages showing up with the wrong name?

My Mom just got a Nexus too, and she showed me that a text from my brother came up in her phone as another family member. In the notification bar it was correct, but in the messaging app the name was someone different. After some time, the phone eventually corrected itself but this is the 2nd or 3rd time it's happened. Clicking on the incorrect name in the messaging app brings up that wrong person's contact tab even though the number underneath the incorrect name is correct.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had the same occur, for example I texted James and it showed Jim on the message so I looked at Jim's contact and it had James' number as a secondary. I deleted the incorrect secondary number from the Jim contact and that corrected the problem.
