Vibrate is too strong?

This is my 2nd Galaxy Nexus and one thing I noticed right off the bat was that this new G-Nex has a vibrate that is MUCH stronger than my previous galaxy nexus (and i ran both phones with the same exact settings). i know a lot of people have complained about the g-nex having a weak vibrate motor. but this new g-nex that i'm using actually vibrates too strongly. to the point where its annoying.

i've researched this and haven't found a way to lower the vibrate strength or shorten the length of the vibrate pattern.

has anyone else experienced this issue? or know of a solution?

It's certainly possible that the small motor used for vibration has some sort of physical defect in your new Nexus. For example, if said motor were weighted too heavily, or part of it misaligned, it might cause too strong or off-center vibrations.

Edit: Personally, however, I haven't experienced this. I'm one of the people you mentioned who thinks their Galaxy Nexus doesn't vibrate strongly enough.
