With all the recent data outages Google music is all but useless for streaming in my area. Is there anyway to load my music directly to my phone so i can still use the Google music player directly from my Nexus without having te stream everything?

Yes. You of course need to have a data connection (I.e. lte 3g or wifi). Open you google music app, and there's an option to make your playlist available offline. That will essentially cache your music on your nexus.

Check off the items (artists, songs, albums, genres) that you want to download and "make available offline".

Do this on WiFi though, or you'll pretty much blast your data cap downloading music.
