I did this and it acted like it was going to recover but said the root folder was full and space was needed. Then the computer gave the error that the volume doesn't contain a recognized file system file. Help please!!!

Hi There all,

It is generally the simplest answers that most overlook, my wonderful wife S3 GT-I9300 Galaxy Phone had the same issue as most, most instantly think the card isn't blank WTF is going on, the answer is in the second half of this message, unsupported file IN THE system, she had installed an unsupported EPUB book without the reader App on her phone, she converted the epub to pdf which worked for her, but she had left the epub version of the file on the SDCARD, i used an explorer like FILE EXPERT and found the epub and deleted it.

Then removed the unsupported file and the Notice disappeared after restart.

Mint, Wife happy, which naturally falls over to myself being happy.

tragedy avoided, yay!! peace all!:D

Check to see if the card is not damaged. I got the same message as you all. When I looked closely at the card it was damaged. Not much but enough apparently. I was trying the remove the case to change the sim...

I've had my Galaxy Ace nearly 18 months with no complaints. Installed new, larger SD card about 5 months ago. Had no issues. Last thing I've installed was Words With Friends over 2 weeks ago.

Today my phone froze, and after I restarted it, it gave me the topic error message.

I've restarted at least 5 times, I've made sure the card was inserted correctly, it works in my husband's phone... what the crap is wrong?

Interesting point: the same thing happened with my last Samsung phone.

How to fix this? You need to insert your SD card to the SD card reader and plug the reader into your computer USB port. it should connect as a new drive and copy all data from this drive to your computer. Then format card FAT32, Quick format. Then copy data back and insert SD card to your Android device. If computer cant read the card, and tried various USB ports or various SD card readers, card is probably damaged, and probably only specialised firm may restore some data. .. at least i think so

Yepp, finally i just found out how to recover back the SD card to its settings without needed to format it. I tried to connect with USB to PC.
1. Connect phone to PC
2. Remove SD card, then insert it back
3. Insert SD card to your phone
4. There a screen display on your phone, just click 'YES' (restart MTP device) i think
5. Just wait.
6. I've done it already.

All my data in SD card were not damaged or missing

You just try it. On my Samsung tablet 7.0

Can you tell me what you did to rectify this? I am pretty sure my problem was caused like yours. I have tried all the other suggestions here and chkdsk and nothing works. I even used a pay for recovery system and they found nothing. Sad I lost all my vacation pics- I could not backup as we had no WIFI while traveling.
