Just like my car, my phone(s) doesn't stay stock for long. Hehe
Haha yes, Sir.

As we all know Samsung is not the best at updates, however they have been stepping it up lately. But Verizon on the other hand is the modern day Nero. They don't care about updating their users, and would just rather leave them stuck on an old os. So, are any of you worried about being stuck on jelly bean when android 5.0 is announced? Would you rather go nexus?
I'll worry about 5 after I get 4.2
I'm already one version ahead of Verizon. Good thing about this phone is it's worldwide. As long as Samsung updates I'll be good on a close to stock custom rom

When i had my TBolt i was all about flashing new roms to see what I liked best. With this phone I love the stock rom. I am rooted and unlocked just because I could but for now I will leave it stock and maybe tweak it a bit. It's extremely stable and I prefer not to mess with that.
With that said if Samsung doesn't get 5.0 to this phone I probably will flash at that point but that's pretty far down the road
Haha, I'll pass on that bug ridden version. I'd consider 4.1.2 though which I've kept my Nexus 7 on (besides the bugs in 4.2, I don't see reason enough to update anyway). IMO, newer software is not alway better software.
I haven't lol I want to but I just got it setup how I like it so I really don't feel like changing it. I know i eventually will but I"m thinking of enjoying completely stock for another week (or day)...we will see I keep reading good things about that rom too...Since you're already rooted and unlocked, have you tried beanstown's Jelly Beans ROM? That's the BEST stock ROM out there right now and I'm rocking it. AWESOME ROM so far.
And which version are you talking about?
4.1.2

does Google's Android division not share some of the blame here? What if they decide to up the specs requirements for Android 5.0, making it impossible from most phones to run 5.0? (even a top-of-the-line phone like our Note 2 will be almost "obsolete" in 12 to 18 months from now)
Then everyone will need to get new phones or be happy with what they have. But that scenario is highly unlikely. Note 2 already has a quad core with 2 gigs of ram. We are way fat off from our hardware being out of date
I really believe people need to be happy with what they have and not always trying to look at what they don't. I mean the Note 2 as it is works great on Jelly Bean! I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. But, at the same time, I do agree about the Note 2's hardware. No reason it couldn't run a newer version of Android. Just be careful what you wish for! Sixteen years in the IT field has taught me that newer software is NOT always better.
