Your best camera is the one you have with you. And SGNII is with me all the time. So I have shifted my photography basically to mobile for most shots, except project or client driven.

Below are a handful of not random, but composed images that I shot with my Note II.

Thanks! Although phone cameras constantly evolve they aren't nearly good enough to produce such images out of the camera. Actually the job of the photographer is to create images, not just to show what a camera can do. Keep in mind anyone can press a bottom and some cameras are even set up to shoot automatically. So, there is a difference between photography and a snapshot. But few care to know the difference.

These images have been heavily post processed in photoshop. I would post process any of my images, regardless what camera they come from, but the cell phone images are processed a couple of steps more due to noise, lack of contrast and low dynamic range.

Here you see the limitations of the Note II camera sensor's zoom feature. Although I shot with CameraZoom App's steady shot and the image is not blurry, because I zoomed in, most of the clarity of the image is gone. By using our phone cameras' digital zoom we lose so much clarity.

That's why I always hated digital zoom and preferred optical zoom.

    Great shots

Do you use a tripod mount with your Note2? I can't find one that fits yet.

if you read this thread from the top, you'll see that I use an App called CameraZoom that has a very good steady shot feature. So no tripod.

Don't be so matter of fact. It comes across as rude. You only mention steady shot while referring to zoom. You did not say you didn't use a tripod for any of the pictures.

    Thanks for the response.

I used to do high end photography with my 6x6 cm Hasselblad film cameras, and then later with my Nikon DSLRs (Nikon D1x, D100, D2x). Spent literally tens and tens of thousands on camera gear and studio lighting plus accessories galore for over 25 years. I've since sold 90 percent of my gear, but still have a few items left in case I need to use them for photoshoots for past clients. Nowadays I mostly just pull out my Samsung Note 2 phone for doing quick shots. I also have a Samsung video/still camera similar to a GoPro camera for doing high-def videos that I can upload to YouTube right away. As much as I like my Note 2 for doing decent quality photography, I'm pretty sure I'd be laughed out of my socks if I showed up to a paid photoshoot gig with only a smartphone! What's even more laughable is seeing tourists taking pictures holding up a 10" iPad tablet! That too is starting to get more common. When doing photoshoots, nothing beats a fast f2.8 zoom lens (or an even faster prime lens) for both image quality and low-light speed. I wish I could just slap on my Nikon Nikkor 28-70mm f2.8 zoom lens to my Samsung Note 2. That would be fantastic!

you know the saying, the best camera is the one you have on you. that's why the cell phone cameras will dominate the world and basically will push the compacts out. the future will be only cell phone cameras and Full Frame DSLRs. As the price of FF senors drop Nikon and Canon will put them in their mid-level DSLRs and in about 5 years into the entry level as well.

I'm waiting for Google to come out with their new glasses that can shoot 1080p hi-def stills and videos, plus X-ray vision to boot! That will be my new camera of choice that's always with me, haha!

One more. See it in the original size. The plus side of a small sensor is that, at night if you are careful with the images, it can look like a painting.
