I'm impressed you must be very persuasive to get that from them. All I can get them to say is "updates are exciting".

I bet we see it after the first of the year. Verizon will want to sell as many note 3 as possible as they will make more money.

I'll be ticked since I bought a Galaxy Gear today.

Can you get Galaxy Gear compatibility by rooting it before the OTA comes out?

I'm not sure. But I am guessing no. The ota update is different for each carrier. And you know how vzw is. Probably going to make sure that you have to buy the watch from them only.

I was reading through the att forum, and they didn't get theirs either. Somebody said there was a software issue that may have caused the delay. No clue if that's rumor or speculation. If thats the case, I'll take the delay over a buggy update any day. Those of us that had the og razr, and got the accidental jelly bean ota can attest to that.

Yeah I will take the delay but I don't have to like it! My N2 is working just fine with 4.1.2 and i am not hard pressed fir an update but I am over all the 6 months of hype leading up to an update that doesn't happen.

Yeah 4.1.2 has been good. Just for once would like to up to date with everyone at the same time. In my opinion these updates should come from the manufacturer or Google not carriers. Carriers should be only be involved with providing your service. Cable and Sat providers don't have any say in what your tv manufacturer makes or the updates they give you.

Updating the software on the Note 2 will not turn it into a Note 3.

I know. But, people are buying the galaxy gear and if they want to use it they have to have 4.3. People always want the newest stuff they will get it and this kind of forces people to upgrade or buy outright.

The new air view features. Improvements to the camera just to name a few.

The Note 2 WILL NOT recieve air view (and a few other Note 3 specific capabilities) in this "upgrade". We will get basically exactly what the S3 and S4 has gotten, while keeping the s pen features from our 4.1 software. Thanks Sammy...

So what you're telling me is I have to go and see what the s3 and s4 updates are and then I'll find our? Does anybody know so I don't have to look it up. Lol I'm busy...

Remember though most of the upgrades we will see really comes from the jump from 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 we should see lots of improvements because we are like two upgrades behind the S4 right now...(well some S4's just got 4.4 so we are actually 3 upgrades behind) so you have to look at all the added features from each upgrade to determine what we will be getting in 4.3. Not just the 4.3 upgrade features, that doesn't tell the whole story for us. So... Yeah... alot of digging around. Lol

The update is primarily to add Galaxy Gear support and Samsung's KNOX enterprise security layer. Otherwise just some bug fixes and security fixes (included in 4.3).

Not really a valid analogy. Cable and sat providers typically DO have say over the box that connects directly to their service so they can ensure it works properly on their system and doesn't adversely affect it.
