What is the diamond with the cross inside it?

And shouldn't there be an eyeball notification icon on top of my dropdown for the phone "watchcing me?" I activated the stay on feature but I am not seeing the eye everyone was talking about in the initial reviews.

But I do see this diamond with a plus in it???

I do not know what the diamond is and I'm curious to find out. But as I have experienced the eye will only show up if you haven't touched the screen and it is trying to determine whether or not you are looking at it.

Btw, which gps setting is the best to use? On my X I think there was just on and off.

when it's just the little x'y diamond thing with out the ))) next to it, it's just e911 location service, with the ))) it's one or more other locatio services(google, vzw). Menu>Settings>Personal>Location Services

Since e911 can no longer be turned off on any cellular phone, the real issue for me is just hiding the icon. No use in having an icon that gives no real information and takes up space in the notification bar.
