Apple won't have to add it. With how clearly they demolished Samsung, Samsung will HAVE to negotiate going forward. They can't afford multiple billion dollar verdicts against them.

For anybody that has any insight, what will it mean to us S3 users if Samsung loses in court which is what I'm seeing?? Will it be a drastic change? Only the Google search feature, which I still have? Or minor issues unrelated to the S3, which I'm hoping, and will it impact furture Samsung phones??? I sure hate to go back to Motorola or HTC....:-!

Well from what I just heard its bad news all around for samsung. Guilty on multiple devices and $1.5 Billions awarded to apple. What does that means for for the S3. Is it a get it while you can before its gets pull off the shelves deal. We'll have to wait on that. No devices has been named yet but Galaxy tab found not infringing on the Ipad. But Sammy's taking a beating today. Yikes....

Pretty sure you're correct. I don't think they could have added based on when it came out. Maybe in round two?

I doubt there will be a round two. The breadth of the loss for Samsung is going to make them reevaluate whether they should continue to fight.

Samsung should continue to fight especially since somehow the international versions of these phones were summarily judged as non-infringing by the judge(who happens to be an ex Apple employee...can you say conflict of interest?) We need to have tech jurors for tech cases. Apple seriously put up the distortion field on this one...Since when did the Fascinate look any bit like an iPhone?? I mean other than it was a phone and has an LED screen.

Samsung will fight. See the top of this short transcript. Date is set for round 2

6:39:49 PM PDT

One thing is for certain, however: as Samsung said in its statement, this isn't done. We're signing off for now, but we'll be back in court when the two sides discuss an injunction against Samsung products in just a few weeks.
6:34:15 PM PDT

And it looks like we're done for the day. The jurors snuck out a back entrance with the help of the court staff, without speaking to the media.
6:14:41 PM PDT

Koh's continuing to be hardline in make the parties manage the case, giving Apple and Samsung page limits for their filings.
6:14:21 PM PDT

The hearing will be on September 20th.
6:12:58 PM PDT

Koh proposes that Apple file by August 29th. Samsung would have 14 days to draft its response, due on September 12th. Apple will have just two days to draft its response, and it will be due September 14th.

I don't think they will. The precedent has been set, and they cannot afford any more billion dollar judgements.
