Android "System" using 25%+ on S3 Kitkat

I recently noticed my battery life on my phone going down quickly lately. When I checked Android Stock battery app it shows that the Andriod System is using sometimes over 25% battery. It's never been this high before. Normally it's been around 7-10% I do have Andriod 4.4.2. Not real thrilled with the update but it installed it self over night months ago, and I can't get rid of it. It would be okay if not for the battery drain issue.

Anyway just wondering what could be causing this and how to fix it? I've tried clearing the google play services cache, and that has not helped. I don't use stock email app. I use gmail.

Try a reboot, or wipe the cache partition: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ing-into-recovery-mode-galaxy-s2-s3-tab2.html

It would also help to do the following: Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

I have the battery saver mode turned on, on DU Battery saver. I did wipe the cache partition already, tried that last night. And oddly now it seems to drain faster. Screen brightness has been turned way down almost all the way down as well.

Will try letting it drain to 20% and then will show a screen cap of the battery stats.

Here are the screen caps of the battery info.

Oddly Du does not show the same stats.

I think most of your drain is from your weak cell signal. Does your device sit idle a lot?

EverythingMe seems to be using a fair amount of battery for a launcher. What happens if you revert back to TouchWiz?

Yes it does. Accept for when I post to Facebook or play a game. Sometimes I'm on it a lot more and sometimes I'm not on it really that much at all. Not sure what to do about the cell signal. It used to be good and has gone down hill. Verizon says that everything in the area, towers etc are working fine. So not sure what to do about it. At work when I can't have it with me and have to have it in my locker I put it in airplane mode. But can't do that when I'm home if someone needs to get a hold of me.

The same thing happens when I revert back to touchwiz. It still takes up a ton of battery power and doesn't make a difference. It's not the launcher causing the issue. When looking at the android stock battery app the launcher uses like under 10% or less. So not sure why DU battery app is reporting it's using that much battery power.
