considering screen brightness is probably the biggest battery drain, having good auto brightness is key to me. and the stock auto brightness on most phone sucks.

enter this app called LUX. free in the market.

thing is my phone is not handling it right. i emailed the dev, he got back very fast. basically my phone goes back to reading 10lux all the time even in bright light.

thsi is what the dev wrote:

"Lux has a debug page under 'advanced' in settings. Please open that and see if the light sensor value drops to 10 lux as you describe. If so, it's your light sensor erroneously reporting 10 lux. If it only does it for a brief amount of time, then turning on data filtering (or increasing the filter window) may help smooth out the value."

so i did and while i turned on data filtering fast, it reads 10lux often and for sometimes 10 seconds at a time in bright light.

can some of you with the rezound try this and post results? curious if it is on many rezounds or if i have a defective sensor. for the people who this app works right for, it is awesome. just what we need.
