no longer possible to wake up phone with volume buttons after ICS

I have always used the volume buttons to wake up my Rezound because it's easier to reach it
with my right hand thumb while holding the phone.

However, this doesn't seem to be possible anymore after I installed the latest "leaked" official
ICS update.

Has anyone noticed this or is there something wrong with my Rezound?

I use the NoLock app to accomplish that. But I'm stock

that a setting? my stock doesn't wake on volume button.

I thought that was a feature only found on custom ROMs. Were you running one?

yeah I never noticed it before, thinking about it now (with a custom ROM) because I reall hate how "flush" the power button is.

My Rezound was completely stock.

I guess it's not supposed to do that? Or perhaps it was caused by one of the apps that I had on it... but I can't remember which one may have allowed the volume button to be used to wake
up the phone....

My rezound is stock and the volume buttons DO wake it up. I would actually like to stop it from doing that if I could.

It must be "caused" by an app because my Rezound was completely stock.
I just borrowed my co-worker's Rezound. She just bought it a week ago and
it also wakes up using the volume buttons. I am using her phone right and
installing every app that it has on my own Rezound.... hopefully I'll figure out
which app is doing this.

Its because of the rom that is used in Ice cream sammich. My friend has his rooted and that is a feature of the build that he is running. IF YOUR ON STOCK YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS CAPABILITY

okay... I confirmed that it was the "NO LOCK" app that's doing this.

When installed on stock Rezound with Gingerbread, the "NO LOCK" app will allow you to wake
up the phone via the volume buttons.

Unfortunately, this function is lost when you install the leaked official ICS from HTC. The
developer of "NO LOCK" apps has not fixed this yet.

Oh well... I guess all I can do is wait.


Edit: "NO LOCK" was not the reason. I went to a Verizon corporate store during lunch. The Rezound on display also wakes up
just by pressing the volume buttons. By the way, the VZW employee told me the display unit will be pulled sometime this week.

I have a stock gingerbread Rezound, do not have (never had) "No LOCK", and the volume buttons wake up the phone.

I will let you know what happens when ICS comes my way. Perhaps I have another app that adds this function. Which I don't want.

You're correct...

"NO LOCK" was not the reason. I went to a Verizon corporate store during lunch. The Rezound

Guess I'll just have to keep searching for the reason why the volume buttons can no longer
wake up the Rezound after ICS.

I just downloaded the official ICS update pushed by Verizoon. This issue is still happening. Previously, I was using No Lock and the volume buttons could wake the phone.....but not after the official ICS update.

It is really annoying. Anyone know a new app that will allow the volume buttons to wake up the phone??
