Half of my contacts didnt comeback!!!!!

I had to get my thunderbolt replaced since the screen just stopped working on me last week. Anyway, i logged in into my gmail account and half of my contacts didnt comeback!!! WTF??? i always have everything synced and not once have i turned it off. Any ideas why? or is it a bug through google?

By some chance did you happen to save those contacts to your phone memory instead of Gmail?

My guess is half your contacts were saved to the phones memory and not backed up to Google. That'ts why it's important to back up your phone's contacts to your SD card then import them to your Google account. Typically you only have this issue when going from 1 phone to another and use Verizon to migrate the contacts.

Open up the contacts app Menu > import/export > from sd card > to google.

Thats what i have always done, i dont know why it didnt work last time

Easiest thing to do from now on is make sure when you create a new contact on the phone, at the top select "google" contact instead of "phone". If you do that, it instantly backs that contact up on google.

With Android its always best to sync your contacts with a G mail account. Its fool proof.
