I checked my notifications today, and I had a notification to download Facebook for Android from a gibberish website. The notification had a green + sign as the icon. I already have Facebook for Android installed. Any clue what this is?

Also, I use AVG Antivirus for my phone...should I think about getting a different one?

You might want to check using Airpush, from the Market.

You don't have a virus just bad apps spamming the notification bar. If u run that app you problem will be gone. Even though I wish Google would crack down on these apps

It would only be too easy to blame it on a virus... sadly Android based systems are rather difficult to program old-fashioned proper viruses. Nope, instead we get that crap adware and spyware piggy-backing on applications.

What happened to the good ol' days?
