Voicemail notification won't go away

I had this problem before with a past update, but since the last update the vm notification won't go away. I've tried to put it in airplane mode then back and restarting my phone, but it's still there. Anybody have a solution to this?

have you tried pulling down the status menu and click the Clear button on the pull down window?

there is no clear button available. there is when there is other notifications, and when I press it, it clears the other notifications, but not the vm one.

I had the same problem. It was a while ago, so my memory is quickly fading.

I think I called my cell phone and left a message for myself. Upon listening to, and deleting, the new message, the notification went away.

No problems since.

I have not had this issue, but I recall reading that this can clear it. It is as if leaving and deleting a message gets everything back in sync.
