Strange Battery Indicator Behavior

I have two batteries and this is happening to both batteries. When I unplug the phone (at 100%), within about half an hour the battery goes down to 2% (battery indicator as red in it). It stays that way for about 9 or 10 hours before dying. When I plug it in the battery goes to 100% within a minute but continues to charge.

Of course because the phone thinks it is at 2% all day I lose the flash for my camera.

I have ICS and did a hard reset all ready and that did not fix the problem.

Sounds like it might just be a hardware problem with the phone. How old are the two batteries?

One of the batteries is the original one, the other is about 2 months old.
