Return and Service Termination
You may terminate service for any reason within 14 days of activation. If you purchased a wireless device at a promotional price at the time of activation, you must return it within the device return period to avoid being assessed an Early Termination Fee of $175, or $350 if you purchased an Advanced Device. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation.
I tend to think it's when you activate it, it's really not your phone nor is it in working order until that happens. So, how could you try it out until that time?
Ordered mine from wirefly.com and the 14 day trial starts from the day they activated it.
Does anyone here know if I cancel my contract with Verizon, will I incur a penalty from wirefly before they receive the phones? I know shipping will take a while so wirefly will probably receive the phones past the 14 day trial with Verizon. Basically, can I cancel my contract with Verizon while my phone is in transit to wirefly?
Careful! I just realized that, at least for those of us who ordered through Amazon, the phone was activated when shipped. I placed my order March 16, it shipped March 17, and I received it March 21. It was officially "activated" March 17 according to Verizon.
Perhaps I could call Verizon and argue that that isn't consistent with the idea of a 14-day trial period, but I wouldn't take a risk like that and face a $350 ETF.
