My original moto droid has been sitting on my night stand collecting dust since I got the TB. Can't make calls but everything else works.

VZW though has a trade-in program where you may be able to get some cash for that old phone (in the form of a gift card) as long as its not too old. My moto droid can fetch something like $25

Yup you can keep your current phone. Mine was a bold 9650 that had a trade in value of $65 but i sold it on Craigslist for $100. Made for some cool cases and apps for my TBolt.
