There will likely be no change to your internal memory. In fact I can guarantee it.
See, most Android have a segregated OS partition on the internal memory, hiding the space the Android OS takes up. The Thunderbolt is lacking that. As a result, the 5+GB of storage that Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.0 takes is not going to magically vanish. If anything, the only change you might see it to advertisement slicks.
