Drag down notifications turns phone off?

So, this just started happening today, but when I wake the phone up by pressing the power button on back, it puts it back to sleep/turns dark. This happened several times. Has this happened to anyone else?

It's happened to me often. I think it's just the proximity sensor on the front. When that's blocked it turns back off pretty instantly.

Yes, this is correct. It is incase it turns on while in your pocket. If that sensor is covered it will turn right back off. So pulling the notification bar down from the lockscreen is a little tricky. Just need to stay on the right side of it, away from the sensor.
