App Volume Adjustment?

I have an app called Map My Run that I use on my runs and I can barely hear it when it notifies me when I've done a mile and how long I've been running etc. The app does not have it's own volume adjustment and even when I have all three volumes up (ringtone, notification and media) it does nothing for it, but it sounded nice and loud on my GS3. Any suggestions?
