I have an LG G2 Verizon VS980 cell phone. It was running fine on KitKat but after the Lollipop update not so much. I had the following issues many other people do.

1. GPS will not sync
2. Short battery life
3. Phone calls on speaker cut out

The funny thing is my wife has the exact same phone and it works fine. This led me to believe it was a hardware\app issue so I read all the forums and tried all the tips\tricks. None worked for me. The most aggravating was the GPS problem. It was so bad I couldn't use it at all. If I turned on my location it ran my battery down very fast.

I first decided to just reset the phone just in case something I had done may have caused the problem. I erased it back to a fresh Lollipop but the problem remained.

The solution ended up to root the phone and install Marshmallow. It has been great since. Here is a brief description of what I did:

1. Root phone using one click
How to Root LG G2 running Lollipop with 'LG One Click Root'
2. After rooting the phone you can use Titanium Backup to back up your apps\data. I skipped this step because I didn't want all the Verizon apps and since I had just reset my phone there wasn't that much on it.
3. Install Marshmallow using the TWRP procedure

4. Install the Google Apps. I choose the Micro version. Flash the Marshmallow Gapps file similarly like you flashed the ROM file.

5. After reboot you will see the Android robot for quite a while. Relax it will start.
6. You will get a lot of setup questions.
7. After the phone boots, debug and root will not be enabled. Just enable like before.

After Marshmallow is running I was missing some things that were important.
1. On my home screen I like the phone, messaging apps to show unread badges. To get this back I used Notifyer Unread Count

2. I also like my lock screen to show my messages or email alerts without unlocking the phone. I used NiLS Lock Screen Notifications

3. I wanted my Camera Photos to automatically sync to my GoogleDrive account when I charge my phone. I use Google Photos

My phone is great again. My battery lasts all day and after normal use still has 60% or more when I plug it in. GPS has never worked this good. It locks in almost immediately. I have only used my phone speaker once since the upgrade and it may not be better. I need to try it more.

I hope this information helps someone. I tried finding user experiences before I upgraded but didn't find any.
