For those that updated to the latest update and are using band 4, what speeds are you seeing? These are speeds at my work which is in a densely populated area. Note the band 13 speed tests at the bottom.

71 DOWN!!!! WOW!! I'm in the DC area and the highest I got was 23-25...which is what it was before the iPhones got LTE. LOL

I had been averaging around 9-10 for about the last year. So, I guess the activation of the AWS band technically doubled my speeds? *shrugs*

So did you have to uninstall and reinstall Foxfi?? I'm in the Seattle area too, but I use the hotspot for my commute to work. Can't lose that.

No I did not. It was the first thing I tried after the update. I've read on other forums that some are having to do so but it does continue to work after uninstalling and reinstalling if you need to. Good luck!

I know for some it's obvious that you are on band 4. But, how can you tell for sure? Is everyone just going by speeds or only the areas known to have AWS running?

You can monitor band by following the instructions here.

Other than that Band 13 max is 72 mbps, and uploads around 20mbps. If you see speeds faster than that, then you would be on band 4.

Thanks. I was reading other articles online earlier. I am assuming that you need to be rooted for any of these methods to work?
I didn't root this phone because I am not sure if it would void my Edge contract.

Yes you would need root to check band, though you can "check" based on speed

I hate these threads... Makes me envious of the speeds, and annoyed at the cost I'm paying for the slow(er) lane.

Here's the thing...I checked speeds when I first got my phone on 10/10 and got 51 Mbps download. On 10/14, I got 54. I haven't been able to crack 30 Mbps download since then. At the time, I thought maybe our area (metro Detroit) had band 4 LTE already. Now, I am just confused. Most reports say no Detroit yet, but a few I have seen says it does have it.

It would be easiest to check at light load times like in the wee hours.

Also even though band 4 may be deployed in your city, it might not be deployed in your area.
