Is this the MultiWindow bar you're referring to?
Tapping and holding the Back Button should 'get rid of it' (press and hold again and it comes back). It allows you to see which apps are available for MultiWindow operation and open them in that mode.

No, not the multi task, side bar.

It's a grey bar, that pops up on the right when I tap the lower right corner of the screen.

Are you running a launcher? It looks like favorite apps menu for some launchers. You will have to check launcher settings to see how to move or get rid of it.

Otherwise, I don't have a clue!

Yup, that doesn't look like a stock feature. Must be either part of a 3rd party launcher or a 3rd party app that adds that launcher bar.

Gunai Smartbar app has a sidebar launcher just like that. Check to see if Gunai is installed!
