Galaxy Note 3 Wifi Speeds Slow

I have the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I recently have been getting very, very slow Wifi speeds on it while all the other devices on the router have the same speeds. When using mobile data or other networks such as 4G or the network at school I get expected speeds, this only occurs on the wifi at home. Other devices include an iPhone, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S4. I am stumped as to why this is caused and will welcome any suggestions on how to fix it.

Are you using a Comcast all-in-one rented router?

I have done that several times, and it provides immediate upgrade in speed. But then the speed fizzles out after maybe 30 minutes to an hour.

That is the one I am using, the Comcast guy promised it would have the same speeds as the router I had just upgraded to.

I am using the Comcast one that came with the internet.

Which company manufactured the modem/router? Is it Arris? They can be a bit buggy--I have one, and its wi-fi intermittently fails I actually have a second D-Link router set up as an access point in my living room (via a PowerLine connection) that is more reliable.

I had the same issue, what fixed it for me was doing a factory reset and now all of our devices work very fast.
