Hold Out for 32GB or 64GB Galaxy S4 on Verizon? Any Sign of 32GB Verizon??
- The HTC One does look very nice....lot of cool features, but no SD card right? Yeah--I know there's 32GB onboard and yeah I stream much of my music, but I do like to use TubeMate and download lots of YouTube videos to my 64GB micro SD card in my Galaxy S3.....I don't think I'd give that up. I have a Samusng Galaxy Note 10.1 on VZW too that I have 4G/LTE on along with unlimited data ( a Blackeberry holdover since I keep paying full price for new phones.) so not sure I would really consider switching at AT&T as I'd have to pay for the Note 10.1 separately to VZW....
Leaves my options as waiting to see either a 32GB GS4 or seeing the software update that goes to Europe first come out months and months from now on Verizon where I could move apps to SD Card....Verizon seriously needs to kick it in gear.06-15-2013 08:04 PMLike 0 - I did a bad thing today. I caved and picked up the 16GB S4. I also told the poor salesman that didn't know enough about his product what I thought about his company's perspective on it's consumers and his lack of training in anything Android. I then went to Best Buy and picked one up from a salesman that spoke the language of Root & ROM. Things will be ok.06-15-2013 10:02 PMLike 0

Some custom roms have scripts (might be able to do this on just rooted stock) that trick the phone into switching the internal memory and external memory. Basically all that does is tell the phone it has 64 gigs of interal space.

Unless saving money is the main issue, you might want to hold a few more weeks. A friend of mine manages a VZW and is also part of the regional device training team. They had device roadmap information that was part of new device training and corporate marketing was there that would know as well. The 32GB was on their new device list two weeks ago, but was removed and said there are two reasons for a device to be removed: nearing release or canceled (canceled are usually noted though).
The reason I put the "might" at the top was my cynical take is they might have pulled it due to the near pointless APK file move to sd update coming. People will find out the hard way that the APK file move and not data will only help smaller apps and games. Not the apps that cause the storage problems. Some folks keep saying this is the same method as before, but GTA data files and other big games moved to the SD card. Some would not move, but most did. Fragmentation, security, stability and carrier customer service traffic related to it was why pulled as a resource in the first place.06-16-2013 09:56 AMLike 0 - Unless saving money is the main issue, you might want to hold a few more weeks. Considering the options available (and that VZW may not release the S4 32 GB anytime soon or ever), I was looking at the S3, which isn't too much of a step down from the S4. There are 32 GB versions on ebay for $350-400, and it has a thriving dev community as well.

Buy Samsung Galaxy S III (Verizon) in us > Swappa
I have purchased a few devices from there and never any issues. The mods check the ESN before they approve the listing to ensure the device is ready for a new owner.phathands likes this.06-16-2013 01:09 PMLike 1 - The big standouts are the display and the camera. Compare them in store. If the S4 does not get a 32, I have no problem being with this device for another year. The display and camera were getting good reviews last year, so not like they are not good themselves.
The biggie to me is the radios are the same reception. If they were not on par to the average reception of the S3, I would stick with the S3 regardless.phathands likes this.06-16-2013 01:09 PMLike 1 - I dunno, I'm up for an upgrade and I don't want to buy last year's big thing. I'm buying a phone that's got to last me at least two years and the S3 will be an old device in one year.
I've considered it plenty though. If my GNex just gave out and I needed something right now, then sure an S3.

While not necessarily true, the newer it is, the longer it will last you. For example, octacore, while it doesnt have apps optimized for it, and probably won't for the near future. At least now you have the hardware when it does come out. -side note- I don't even think most mainstream apps are optimized for quad core like my GSN2. I would hope by now though that most things are optimized for dual core, aka GS3.

How to use Galaxy S4 Move to SD card feature?
Blog entry (link above) says the game Blitz Brigade takes 1.31Gb of internal space when installed. Samsung's Galaxy S4 Move to SD program managed to move roughly 25Mb of the application program leaving everything else on internal storage. What's the use?? It moved less than 2% of the 1.31 Gb program to the SD card !!
Patiently waiting for Verizon's Galaxy S4 32Gb model ... two in black, please.06-17-2013 02:24 PMLike 0 - On Post 177 of this thread Tami Erwin responded to someone else who emailed her about the 32GB Galaxy S4.

My name is Marcus and I've been a long time subscriber of Verizon (3+ years now). I am a tech influencer also -- I tell other people what to buy. I was told that you are one of the person's at Verizon who is in charge of PR. As a customer to an executive exchange -- could you provide me with an explanation as to why there's no Galaxy S4 with 32GB on Verizon Wireless?
Can you give me a time frame as to when that's coming? I'd really appreciate a response as I feel like we have been kept in the dark for a long time while other carriers like AT&T get their version.
I don't expect you to respond -- but it would be nice though. Thanks for your time, if you even bothered to read this email.

- Exactly what I was going to ask. So if this email is in fact legit, Verizon should announce something soon to make all the naysayers (me included) to sit up and take notice. Either way, I'm going to have a 32gb S4 - here or with AT&T. I actually called a few minutes ago to get my daughters ETF amount and the rep asked why I wanted it of course. I told him Verizon was behind the times with devices. He didn't have any info on the S4 but did say the HTC One was coming very soon. Sure.06-17-2013 07:01 PMLike 0

Samsung: Faster Galaxy S4 is on the way - CNN.com
Verizon, can you hear me now? I guess not.06-17-2013 07:11 PMLike 0 - Exactly what I was going to ask. Sure.
This is by far the strangest handling of a halo product launch I've seen.
It would not surprise me at all to learn that AT&T had a limited exclusivity window for the 32GB and that's (one of ) the reason(s) for this long delay.
We've see VZW emails and we've seen speculation it would be great if we got an official announcement even if it's along the lines of their HTC One announcement - "We're carrying it...(sometime) later...."06-17-2013 07:23 PMLike 0 -
