I have my work email (Exchange server) set up through the email app. I want to get notifications when I receive an email, but when I'm at work and am sitting at my desk and reading my emails on the computer, I want the notifications for the emails that I've read to go away.

This worked on my last phone, which was an HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint. Is there a way to do it with the Galaxy S4 on Verizon?

Ya, this drives me insane. The notification won't go away on the lock screen even when the email is read. And the LED just keeps blinking.

I am also an ex Evo user and was sure that this is common sense, if I read the email, remove the notification. I wonder if its open as a bug.

I wonder if using another mail app will help?
