I want to sync Outlook 2010 and Samsung S4. I sync only the calender and tasks and now have both apps working but not sure which will be more reliable.

I've used My Phone Explorer on my Droid Charge but had trouble with the Samsung S4. Got instructions from the developer on how to fix the problem and it seems to be working at the moment. However, I always found MPE a bit tedious in that the instructions are translated and not always clear. It also uses wifi, which is fine, but it takes time because I like to keep a 3+ year calendar on my phone.

During the time I couldn't get MPE to work, I set up a trial of Companion Link using the cloud. It was done so fast that I thought it didn't sync the data - but it did. And, if I leave it on Push, I won't have to sync, data will be pushed automatically. This is very appealing but push takes battery and memory so I'll probably do it manually anyway.

My major concerns are reliability and data integrity. I am also concerned and space and memory use on the phone if I don't use the "push" feature in the cloud. The price is not a major issue for me and I already donated to MPE and got more than my money's worth while using it on the Charge. But the speed and ease of the cloud are appealing.

Would appreciate knowing about your experiences and how others sync. Thanks

I tried Kies when I got the GS4, and was very unhappy. It often requires a restart during sync, and frankly the sync takes about three times as long with Kies. I think the only thing I'll be usig Kies for in the future is syncing music - it seems to handle that quite well.

I'm currently using MyPhoneExplorer to sync Outlook 2013, and it works reliably and well. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. I do use a USB direct connection to the home Desktop PC, having messed about with WiFi and Bluetooth when I had my Droid Razr Maxx (syncing to Outlook 2010) and not coming to a reliably successful outcome (i.e., connection issues, not syncing everything, etc.). Technically, MPE is still in Beta for Outlook 2013, but the Beta hasn't changed since early March 2013 and it seems to work great.

Hopefully this is the kind of information you are looking for.

Android-sync is what I have used for years and have always been happy. Sync Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes.

I have used companion link for quite some time with my Droid 3. Just got my S4 yesterday and it did take a bit to set up. but once I did it worked beautifully. And yes, I always do it through the USB. I did not realize that there was a push feature with it. Would like that just for the calendar. Where would I find that? The other thing I did notice is that the normal Contacts are set up much better now than what I had on my droid. I might just use those.

Hi all. New to the forum because I have switched from BB to my S4.

Love the phone, still getting use to touch srceen though. Big sausage like digits, you know.

My biggest concern with switching phone and OS's was the ability to sync everything from Windows Office. I found Android-sync and it seems to work well, but I do have a couple of questions.

    1. Why do I get duplicate and triplicate entries in both my contacts and calendar? With occasional duplicates in Notes as well.

    2. Can I sync between 2 pc's or is this what is causing the duplicates? Mind you, I haven't done this lately and I still get dup/tri entries in my contacts.

That's all for now. Hopefully someone can help.

    Thanks.
