Having serious trouble with quick glance/direct dial widget. Help please!

Ok so I have not been able to get my quick glance feature to work. The other Air Gesture features work fine as do the air view ones so I know that my sensor is functional. However, quick glance, the one feature I would get alot out of, does not work. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, and more importantly as far as I'm concerned, my widget for direct dialing a contact is not working. I will be editing the page, select add widgets, and drag it from the widget list to place on the page. I am then prompted for which contact I would like this to represent, but after selecting the contact the widget simply does not appear. The same thing happens with the direct message widget. Would really like the convenience of using these!!
