If you're doing this just to prove it can be done there is nothing to stop Verizon from cancelling your UDP and everyone elses because we are all on month to month and Verizon is just grandfathering as a business decision to retain long time customers. If too many people abuse their current plan it might push them over the top to say we don't need this kind of business and your UDP is cancelled - you may convert to one of our Everything plans or go to another carrier. I always cringe when I see people using massive amounts of data on their Unlimited Data Plans because they are only through the good graces of Verizon and no contractual reason (with very few exceptions) to leave it this way. I usually use 1-4 GB each month and only use mobile data when I can't use WiFi (for things like downloading podcasts, uploading photos from my camera, etc.). I am not impressed by your usage of data (particularly if you used some kind of hack like FoxFi to tether this to another device).

And no we are not all on month to month. :/ 2016 contract extensions!!! :)

I am still under contract. Also I pay $30 for unlimited unthrottled 4GLTE hotspot. This is on top of the $30 unlimited unthrottled 4GLTE data plan.

Some people don't like to go around the carrier. Especially when using a grandfathered plan.. If he uses a ton of data and has their hotspot feature they can't really say anything... If he has a hacked one he is in violation of their terms of service and they can then take his service away from him.

I would rather do something officially allowed. That was what I agreed to when I got unlimited data. That I wouldn't use hotspot without paying for it.

As much as I'd like to point fingers and blame everyone that's used a crazy amounts of data about this 4g lte throttling, it was probably bound to happen eventually. Hopefully it just a false rumor. I've looked around Verizon's website and have found nothing pointing to this coming/happening.

I've never "abused" my unlimited (in the sense of using data just to see how much can be used). I always just use what I need for my usage, nothing more. That being said, if the rumors are confirmed on August 1, I'm shooting for 3TB for my August billing cycle. Every tower where I am is loaded, so after "network optimization" begins, I may never be even able to even break 5GB again.

This is my personal opinion.
If everyone that has unlimited data went used a TB of data in one billing cycle Verizon would act swiftly and force everybody with grandfathered accounts to one of their limited plans or start throttling everyone.

Looks like that will happen in October

Verizon has said that unlimited is just a word, and that it doesn't mean anything. Since it doesn't mean anything to them then there should be no problem with me keeping it.

dpham,
Will you still keep your 30/30 UDP/ULMHS plan? Or switch to the max plan and save some cash?
