When I was on sprint I could go out and buy a phone on craigslist and then go online to my sprint account and activate it myself. They didn't charge me a fee. Does verizon do this too? I have not done this yet on verizon and was curious if it's as easy as it was on sprint to activate different phones on my account whenever I wanted.

If it's a 4G Lte phone on verizon yes it's just a matter of swapping sims. It's also possible if it's a 3G phone just have to go online via your verizon.com.

Wait so Verizon has sim cards? I thought that was only GSM like AT&T and Tmobile and you didn't have sim cards with CDMA.

You have to have a SIM because lte is gsm based. All new 4GLTE phones use a micro or nano SIM. It's really easy to swap phones if Sims match size.
