With the new Moto X coming out I figured I prep a nano SIM card for the swap method. How would I go about activating the new nano SIM on an already active SIM line? Do I call in or go through the website?

I think you can do it either way, and I even think you can do it by SMS. But if you want to be 100% sure, you're better off calling in.

Or just use your current SIM by cutting it off.

If I were to do it online would I select existing phone or phone that has never been on account? One would think this answer would be obvious but some say otherwise.

I think that option is just to register your new phone. Since you'll be using the new nanoSIM card on a totally different phone, you should go with the second option IF it's asking you about the hardware. If it's asking you about the phone NUMBER, then it's the first choice.

That's why for these things you're usually better off just calling them haha.
