Thanks in advance. If anyone knows about this it would be a big help.

My wife and I have 2 lines and we're paying far too much. I think we should just switch to the new Verizon Plan and save some dough, but I'm not 100% on how to transfer gracefully.

    I have just a standard 2 year contract (G3) 2GB
Right now my wife's line is on an Edge plan 6GB (against all my advice) with her iPhone 5s. She has 3 more payments till the phone is considered hers and paid off. We pay about $145 per month.

It seems to me that if we switch to the shared Verizon Plan for 4 or 6GB we stand to save about $40-$55 per month. I'd probably go for the 6GB to be safe which is $109. The question is - she wants to upgrade her phone and I don't know that we can buy outright at the moment. She'd probably want to get a 6s - I know that normally she could trade in her 5s for $300 toward the 6s (which actually seems reasonable), but can she do that since her phone is not technically "hers" yet? Is it simply ~$24 per month for 2 years and then she'd own the 6s?

Is this a good move? Is there something else we should try? Thanks.

Note: you should always be able to buy outright.
