    Even though it's disabled, it makes me wonder why the project fi app is on my phone in the first place, if I'm using my phone on Verizon.

    It is on all Pixel phones since it is baked into the software. That way if you ever wanted to use Fi one day -- it will be there and ready to work.

    Yes but the software is there so if the person goes to use it.. It will be available. With him using Verizon it sits for dormant.. Or in the OP's case disabled.

    Yeah it is one software for all models so they all support all carriers
