Thinking about switching to Verizon

I am with at&t right now but I am thinking about switching to verizon. I am waiting for the Droid Bionic to release before i switch. I will be switching from an iPhone 4 which is one of the reasons I chose verizon because if i want the iphone, I can get it without switching back to at&t. Although, I am kind of worried if I will be making a bad decision or not. How are the data speeds on 3g? I am getting LTE in my area this year, how are the data speeds for LTE?
