Want to Sell My Fascinate; My Phone Number Still There

I just purchased a new Droid X2 from Verizon today. I am planning on selling my former phone, the Samsung Fascinate. I already did a factory reset and already brought the phone back to stock. However, when I go to "About Phone" and then "status" in the settings, my number is still visible as the phone's number. When I sell the phone, will the new owner reactivate my number when activating the phone, or will his activation override my number? Is there maybe a way to delete the number from the settings? Thanks!

When he goes to activate the phone, as part of the activation process (*228) will download the new programming information. This includes the MIN (routing number ish) and the MDN (which is your telephone number). His information will replace yours in the phone, nothing to worry about sir.
