Hi I am wanting to give away my old OV to a relative, but I am wondering if they will have trouble activating a new Virgin account with it (to be clear, they DO NOT have an account yet). The phone is rooted, and has the IHO recovery and now the latest Backside rom. Does the phone need the Activate app that comes installed stock? If so, where do I find it?
Thanks!

You would need to either restore your stock backup or flash one of the froyo based roms. The activate app and programming menu will not work with a gingerbread based rom. Be sure to backup your current rom before so you can restore it after activation.

The activation application is unnecessary. It duplicates the functionality available for swapping phones in the official website.

As for changing the MDN and MSID, there should be some way to do it that bypasses the need for the hidden menu application, but I do not know what that way is.
