Installing Google Play on rooted/rommed optimus V

I have successfully rooted and installed MiRaGe 7.2 on my Optimus V and was able to install F-Droid, but I cannot figure out how to install Google Play apk. Can someone offer me some advice? Thanks.

No. So I found the gapps repository, which one am I supposed to install?

The latest dated one for CM 7.

Actually the 20110828 gapps are what should be used.

OK, I downloaded that gapps, unzipped it and installed google market and vendor, etc. Now my phone boots into a black screen - it killed my phone. It shows the LG, waits about 15secs, shows the android for about 15 secs then goes to a black screen forever.

Oh, no, you should have flashed the gapps zip in recovery. Probably want to reflash the ROM, but if someone has a quicker method, do tell.

No way to flash anything unless there is some button code to get into recovery

OK, awesome, have it working now.

Make sure you leave the Gapps zipped. You will now need to reflash the ROM and Gapps after wiping and formatting everything but the sd card. If not you will have problems with FC's reboots and freezes later.
