Trying to make a new rom out of another one

I'm trying to make a MotoBlur rom rom j_r0dd preclair v1.6, What are the baisc things i need to know? I have no idea what im doing im now trying to take the boot.img, app,bin and the other folders and overwrite the other folders im making from RebornRomv2.1VM. I know that it is for a totally different phone and everything im just trying to make my own rom.

Yea thats what im trying to. I'm trying on put MotoBlur 2.1 on the OV and i dont know the main things i need or which files to put in which folder.
