I just spent a good while googling this and couldnt really find anything. only other people asking what that symbol means.

I would say try rebooting your phone. sounds like a weird glitch.

yea tried that and activating it also went to 1x for a min then went back to EU there doesn't seem to be any thing wrong every thing is still working

It means you are roaming in the European Union. This is going to cost you a fortune!!!!

cost? how do they charge it? its prepaid.

"ok sir, you used roaming data in europe, thats expensive... but technically we cant do anything since your not on contract and prepay for service, soo umm. yeah. theres that"

Yes, I was just kidding. If you look closely at the icon, it is EV not EU. EV is short for Ev-Do. Ev-Do is essentially 3G. Your "EU" icon is just a 3G icon.

While on the subject, 1x is 2G.
