Had been toying with the idea of getting a Google Cardboard for a bit and then I saw the View-Master review and decided to wait as you can use it with Google Cardboard apps and it is made of plastic and is about $5 more than a Google Cardboard.
Been playing with it this evening and I must say that I am impressed. It does not work well with glasses, but I found that I can use it without my glasses very well. It works great with my Note 5 (without the case). It does say to remove the case on your phone before putting it in the VM.
I am glad that I waited for the VM, as it is probably more durable than most implementations of Google Cardboard and a lot cheaper than Samsung's Gear VR.
